Sonia began her Home Depot career journey in 2023 as a Cashier. She was looking for a place that valued growth and a team that encouraged development. She was drawn to Home Depot’s values and our commitment to taking care of our associates.
As a Cashier, Sonia learned the importance of teamwork and problem-solving to deliver the best customer service. After ten months working at our registers, she felt confident that Home Depot was the right place to build her career, and she was ready to take on a new challenge.

When a Kitchen/Bath Designer role opened up at her store, Sonia saw the perfect opportunity to grow. This role would combine her experience with digital design, creativity, and the customer service skills she developed as a Cashier. “In my first role, I learned how great service builds trust and keeps customers coming back,” Sonia shares. As she stepped into her next role, she realized just how important those skills were.
Now, as a Kitchen/Bath Designer, Sonia helps her customers bring their dream projects to life. “Going the extra mile to find the best solutions is how I take care of my customers,” she says. Whether it’s helping them choose the right product or designing their kitchen layouts, she is guided by her favorite core value.When asked what advice she has for associates ready to try something new, she shared the importance of building relationships. “Get involved in your store’s community,” Sonia advises. “Whether it’s connecting with experienced associates to learn new departments or even joining the Voice of the Associate committee, being involved will help open doors.”
